Siemens Communications jumps up in the Lighthouse Telecoms Index

Lighthouse Telecoms Index - September 2009Siemens Communications is the top gainer in the September edition of the Lighthouse Telecoms Index. The firm, which has been rated a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrants for Corporate Telephony and Unified Communications, shot up 15 positions to the 28th spot. Another upward move can help it get a spot in our top 25 list. In the top tier of the list NTT has moved up 3 positions in September. The firm has started to offer router less corporate VPN to customers in Japan and made it to the 10th spot.

France Telecom which has earned analyst focus for the Customer Care Strategy of its Orange brand as well as public concern over numerous employee suicides has moved up 3 positions to the 24th spot. France Telecom and 3Com(+1) are the two new entrants to the top 25 in September.

The top loser for September is Telecom Italia which failed to get any mention from the 2 analyst heavyweight firms – Gartner and IDC. The firm dropped down 10 positions to end up at the 43rd spot in September. O2 which made it to the top 25 in August has dropped down 4 positions and dropped out of the top 25. Its parent firm Telefonica has also dropped down 2 positions and dropped out of the top 25.
