Texas Instruments makes it to the top 25 in the Lighthouse Systems Index

Lighthouse Systems Index - April 2008Texas Instruments is the biggest gainer this month with a gain of 4 positions. The firm has just recently launched a new digital-to-analog converter and managed to sneak back in the top 25 this month. Sun Microsystems is the other notable gainer this month with gain of 3 positions. Sun, now ranked at 7th spot, has been awarded a contract by DARPA to fund research focused on microchip interconnectivity. AMD has also gone up 3 positions and is now at the 13th spot. The firm has launched the world’s first triple core processors to boost analyst focus on its already impressive product portfolio.

Hewlett-Packard(HP) is one of the biggest losers of analyst focus this month. Although the firm’s Procurve business unit has been featured as a leader by Gartner the firm’s has not been able to get as much analyst attention on its core products as last month resulting in a drop of 4 positions. Hitachi Data Systems which has announced the launch of new network attached storage products has also dropped 4 spots and is now at the 33rd spot. Oce which had just got in the top 25 last month has dropped 3 positions and is now out of the top 25.
