BMC and SAS move up in the Lighthouse Software Index

Lighthouse Software Index - April 2009BMC has raised its profile this month in the Lighthouse Software Index and jumped up 8 positions. The firm has announced a major update on its Business Service Management Platform which aims to help customers improve their business operations in a tough environment. McAfee has also jumped up 5 positions and is now ranked 21 this month. The firm has been ranked as a leader in the Magic Quadrant for Network Intrusion Prevention System Appliances and is the only firm to enter the top 25 this month.

SAS is the biggest gainer this month. The firm has announced a joint application package with Teradata to help companies improve their business analytics which has help it to up 22 positions this month.

IFS which had dropped out of the top 25 last month has dropped further and is the biggest loser this month. Sage is the only firm to drop out of the top 25 this month. The firm has sold its North American Tax Compliance Services Business to help focus more on its core software offerings and it would be interesting to see how that helps its profitability and growth in the future.
