Survey: how analysts see the impact of COVID-19

I’m working with Robin Schaffer and Jasmine Richards to ask how analysts’ work has been changed by the pandemic. In a series of brief ‘self-interviews’, leading industry analysts in different sectors will share some reflections on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. We’re using an online questionnaire to collect responses, so we don’t take without taking too much of the analysts’ time.

We’re sure the findings will be helpful. In the last six months, technologies have allowed businesses to transform dramatically. Analysts have had a remarkable role in developing strategies that helped clients survive these storms. Of course, that means it’s been a very demanding and stressful time for analysts.

To celebrate their contribution and make it easier for vendors to help them, we’re reaching out to gather insights from some of the most impactful analysts our clients have worked with and read this year.

I’m delighted to do this with Robin and Jasmine. Schaffer is an analyst relations veteran who is part of the Analyst Observatory. Richards recently joined the Influencer Relations blog team to make the site more useful; she’s a journalism graduate of Nottingham Trent University, where I hold a fellowship.

We’ll use answers both in this blog and in a book in which Robin Schaffer and Efrem Mallach, Ph.D., are gathering analysts’ advice to the AR community. If you’re an analyst who takes part, they’ll email you a free copy of the book when it’s published later this year. In addition to a free copy of the book, you will also get a chance to attend an Analyst Observatory webinar analyzing the survey answers. Attendees will learn about other top analysts’ mindset view on their respective markets, and how both the demand- and supply-side of the market has changed how they interact with analysts.
