Yankee Group launches affiliate network

Three Yankee Group vice-presidents and two independent European analysts are the first members of the firm’s affiliate network. As Lighthouse clients heard in July, the firm’s restructuring produced numerous rumours, including the departure of SVP Zeus Kerravala and VPs Jennifer Pigg and Susan McNeice. Those three have been announced as the firm’s first US affiliates, and will transition before the end of the quarter.

They are the latest of several departures from Yankee this year, including Andy Castonguay (who left just before the July restructuring) and Terry Cudmore (one of three analysts directly affected by the restructuring).

The affiliate network aims to help Yankee to expand its coverage, especially on topics and in areas which are outside Yankee’s core. The two other affiliates, for example, are both in Europe: Former IDC VP Pim Bilderbeek and VNU’s Caroline Gabriel. Yankee would be well advised to seek further affiliates in Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Affiliates contribute to the firm’s research and blog content, as well as assisting in consulting and advisory work.
