Influencer Insights podcast: IDC’s chief analyst on digital transformation

Philip Carter, chief analyst at IDC Europe, and I have recorded a new podcast to discuss digital transformation. I asked him about IDC’s Third Platform idea, and how his specifically European role reflects the differ challenges and tempo of organisations in Europe. The Munich-based research leader spoke about the friction points created as the gap opens up between the leaders and laggards of digital transformation.

In the first of three planned podcasts, Philip discusses how analyst firms also need to respond to the faster pace of change, which makes it hard for organisations to internalise and understand the changing market. He also explains how IDC is changing to help Europe’s organisations to relate to digital and face up to the digital disrupters from the us.

Nice podcast, although it was a bit light on how IDC intends to classify the stages of Digital Transformation. I am looking into that right now for a client project
