Lighthouse is extending its training and coaching services by adding in role consultancy. Role consultancy is available for AR managers, who wish to explore options for developing their roles, both at an individual level and in relation to their organisation. This can provide a valuable reflective space which is particularly important in today’s stressful climate of constant change.
For example, one corporate AR manager, coping with a slimmed down AR team, was getting overwhelmed with a cluster of referrals from junior communications staff looking for guidance and support on how to do AR now their unit was getting less support from corporate. Discussing with them, we were able to develop a request for team development work for middle-managers in the communications department so they could handle requests from staff, and analysts,more effectively. We developed a AR community, structured like an action learning sets, to help extend the awareness of AR and aid understanding of common themes and connections throughout the AR community As a result, service to analysts is strengthened. That means less pressure and stress and, in turn, the AR teams is less reactive to stress .
