NCR jumps up in the Lighthouse Systems Index

Lighthouse Systems Index - April 2009The biggest gainer this month is NCR which is ranked 25th this month. Its 10,000th ‘Intelligent Deposit’ ATM deployment in U.S has helped it gain coverage and improve its ranking by 7 positions and enter the top 25 this month. Qualcomm has also gone up 2 positions this month and is the second entrant in the top 25 this month.

Sun is the most high profile gainer this month and is ranked 7th this month. It has moved up thanks to intense media speculation about an acquisition by IBM as well as analyst coverage of its new Open Network Systems. Asus which has unveiled a new lineup of Quad-Core based servers has also moved up 5 positions to the 16th spot this month.

Toshiba, which has announced transfer agreement with Panasonic for the LCD joint venture they setup in 2002, is the most prominent loser this month. The firm’s ranking has declined by 3 positions and it is now ranked 9th. Oce and Texas Instruments are the two firms that have dropped out of the top 25 this month.
