Two million data-points later, and the Kea Company research team has completed our analysis of how the profile of the 50 leading analysts firms’ mentions in the media changed in 2015. We were amazed by the global reach of analyst firms in the press worldwide. Out of every ten mentions of analyst firms in the world media, three are in the Americas, four are in EMEA, and there are in Asia Pacific. The data were collected using Dow Jones to search 32,000 titles for the firms most mentioned in the 2015/2016 Analyst Value Survey.
Six businesses’ media profile rose most notably during 2015:-
And six organizations had, at least, one-quarter fewer mentions in the world media:-
We’re making regional analyzes of the data right now to see which firms have globalized their coverage. One surprise was many analyst firms are mentioned more in EMEA than they are in the Americas. Part of that is having firms like TechMarketView and Pierre Audoin Consultants, which have European roots, but our research showed that Gartner is mentioned more in the EMEA media than in the US media. And Gartner does well in Asia-Pacific too, where it, IDC, Frost & Sullivan and Informa are very often cited. Furthermore, the region has some firms that have a higher share of voice in Asia-Pacific than in other areas, such as Greyhound, IDC, Canalys and AMI Partners.

Gee, Since Gigaom closed in March 2015 I’m not surprised mentions of the firm in the press declined.
Gigaom reopened the same summer, and the data used cover the whole period, including the relaunch.
