Oce makes the biggest gain this month in the Lighthouse Systems Index

Systems Index - December 2008Oce has moved up 7 positions this month to earn a spot in the top 25 firms listed in the Systems Index. It has won praise for its recently launched ColorWave 600 and has nearly doubled its analyst score over the last monthadn therefore is the biggest gainer this month. Xerox has also moved up 5 positions this month. The firm has improved its position as analysts focus on the Xerox’s portfolio of content services. It’s recently announced a global partnership with HCL, this is also expected to help it to improve its rank further in the future.

The top 10 appear to have a quiet month with no change of rank at all. However, below the dull facade there are quite a few firms that are in a fierce standoff against one another. EMC is just managing to hold on to its position against NEC and Toshiba has also improved its ranking score by 14% to close the gap with NEC. We expect quite a few changes in the top 10 next month.

AMD has shown the biggest drop in ranking this month. The firm has launched its latest mobile platform to compete with Intel’s Centrino but has still dropped down 4 positions as analysts doubt this to cause any major shift in the market trends. Texas Instruments which has lowered its business outlook for the fourth quarter of 2008 has slipped down 2 positions and is the only firm to have dropped out of the top 25 this month.
