Satyam is one of the most high profile gainer of analyst focus in Lighthouse Services Index. The financial fraud at the firm has resulted in analysts highlighting the firm’s past performance and future prospects which has catapulted the firm to the 10th spot this month. Its a useful reminder that, although there is a strongly positive connection between mentions and recommendations, crisis can also push up a firm’s profile.
BTGS (BT Global Services) is another brand that has improved its position this month. The firm has been rated the best employer for mums in the UK but its the focus on its earnings that has analysts focusing on the firm.
The top 25 list has three new entrants this month. Booz has shot up 11 positions and is the biggest gainer this month. Dimension Data, which has been awarded the TelePresence Global Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status from Cisco, has moved up 3 posts and is now ranked 25 this month. The firm has also gained analyst mentions by using its annual analyst event to help communicate its plans for a tough economic climate. TietoEnator has also move up 4 positions and is ranked 22nd this month. It has opened a new data center in Russia and appears to be doing well after it has changed its brand name to “Tieto”.
KPMG and McKinsey are the top losers this month and have dropped out of the top 25. Both firms have failed to get a single mention by Gartner which have reduced their analyst scores by 37% and 41% respectively. Lockheed Martin which has partnered with CMU to fund innovative research has also gone down 4 positions and is the third firm to drop out of the top 25 this month.
