The most high profile Services event this May has been the acquisition of EDS by HP. The deal, valued at approximately $13.9 billion, is expected to more than double the revenue for HP Services. Analyst focus on the news has helped HP Services gain 4 positions this month and make it to the list of top 25 Services businesses monitored by Lighthouse. It is also worth noting, that if you were to combine the scores for HP Services and EDS, they would jump to number 1 in the Service Index. The other entrant to the top 25 this month is BT Global Services, which has moved up 3 positions this month.
Verio is the biggest gainer this month as it notched up 8 positions this month and is now ranked at the 35th spot. The firm has been mentioned by the VARBusiness magazine in its list of the leading revenue producers among technology integrators and technology Solution Provider organizations in North America.
SAIC has seen the sharpest decline in its ranking this month. The firm has dropped 6 positions and is now ranked at the 28th spot. The firm has completed its acquisition of SM Consulting; however this news did not make a large enough impact in gaining analyst focus. TietoEnator has just slipped off the top 25 and is now ranked at the 26th spot.
