This week we launch the Lighthouse Outsourcing Index. As I mentioned earlier this month, from this month Lighthouse will be issuing two Services Indexes: Outsourcing Index and Consulting and Systems Integration. They will be published in consecutive months starting this month with Outsourcing.
We have searched back over research published during the past 30 months to be able to provide the ranking changes necessary and produce the first index. We have conducted searches for each outsourcing provider using a list of queries used to capture all relevant outsourcing research.
In this first Lighthouse Outsourcing Index the top places are taken by the major global players followed by a concentration of the big Indian firms. It is interesting to note that the top 3 slots in both the regular Services Index and the Outsourcing Index are occupied by the same firms (IBM, HP and Accenture). Wipro is ranked above both Infosys and TCS; in the regular Services Index it is the other way round.
