Amdocs is the most high profile gainer this month in the Lighthouse Software Index. The firm has acquired Jacobs Rimell, a provider of fulfillment solutions for the broadband cable industry, and the resulting discussion has helped it to move up 15 positions this month. The gain has also helped Amdocs enter the top 25 this month. Vignette has also gained 13 positions this month thanks to analyst focus on Vodacom’s usage of its services, and its weak financials.
In the top 10 BEA has caused ripples by moving up 6 positions this month. The firm is high on the agenda of analysts who are looking at the impact of Oracle’s buyout of BEA. The firm has a strong portfolio of products and it would be interesting to see how Oracle and BEA combine their products and services.
Entrust has suffered the biggest loss of analyst focus this month with a drop of 8 positions. The firm has announced first quarter 2008 results claiming to achieve 5% year-over-year growth. However, that has not helped the firm to gain any favor with the analysts. Informatica which has announced the acquisition of Identity Systems has also dropped 7 positions and is the only firm to have dropped out of the top 25 this month.
