SanDisk is the biggest gainer this month in the Lighthouse Systems Index. The hostile bid SanDisk is facing from Samsung is likely to have increased analyst focus on the firm, hence its increase in 7 positions. The highest profile mover this month is EMC; moving up 3 positions to the 7th spot. The firm has launched a new backup service for SMB’s with Lenovo. It has also been categorized as a leader by Gartner in the “Storage Professional Services and Support Magic Quadrant”. Lenovo’s higher position in this months index may be due to its launch of the ThinkServer Line for SMB’s.
AMD recently held an analyst event to disclose its future plans. It has moved up 3 positions this month to the 14th spot. NCR, with a gain of just 1 position, is the only new entrant to the top 25 this month.
Oce, Symbol and Nintendo have all dropped 4 positions this month. The drop means that Oce is out of the top 25, despite its newly launched high resolution colour scanner. BenQ which was the biggest gainer last month has also dropped 3 positions this month and is now ranked 32.
