Tiscali moves up in the Lighthouse Telecoms Index

Lighthouse Telecoms Index - August 2009Tiscali is the biggest gainer this month. The firm has been acquired by TalkTalk and has moved up 11 positions. Qwest is up 9 positions this month as analyst focus on its efforts to focus on its broadband business help it to improve its position in the Lighthouse Telecoms Index.

Vodafone which has announced the launch of Vodafone telecoms management to simplifies the management of fixed and mobile telecoms is also up 4 positions to the 11th spot. O2 is the only new firm in the top 25 this month. The firm has expanded into personal financial products with the launch of O2 money and is up 4 positions this month.

Extreme Networks has shown the biggest decline in ranking this month. The firm has formed a strategic tie up with McAfee to provide secure networking for enterprise organizations but this has not resulted in any improvement in the analyst mentions and the firm is down 8 positions. 3Com which reported an 8.2% decrease in its 4th quarter 2009 earning as compared to 2008 is the only only firm to drop out of the top 25.
