Apple gets to the 4th spot in the Lighthouse Systems Index

Lighthouse Systems Index - August 2008Apple is the highest profile mover this month in the Lighthouse Systems Index. The firm has benefited from analyst focus on the new Apple 3G iPhone and as a result, it has moved up 3 places and is now ranked at the 4th position. Lenovo, which has announced that it is expanding its consumer PC sales channels, has also gone up 3 spots and is now ranked 12th. Acer announced some great results for the 1st Half of 2008, Texas Instruments are other notable gainers this month. Both companies have gained 3 positions and are ranked 17th and the 22nd respectively.

The biggest gainer this month is Matsushita. The firm will be known as Panasonic as of October 1st, after the unification with the other large corporate brand is complete.

BenQ has experienced the largest drop this month by 4 positions. The firm has failed to maintain or improve its score in the Lighthouse Systems Index even though it won the Bronze Award announced by the 2008 Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEAs). Fujitsu, Canon and ATI Technologies have also dropped down 3 positions each this month.
