Novell moves up in the Lighthouse Software Index

Lighthouse Software Index - August 2009Novell, which showed off its cloud computing security service to analysts, is the most high profile gainer this month. The firm has improved its rank by 2 positions and is currently at the 7th spot. Genesys has also improved its ranking as analyst focus on its IVR systems help top improve its score. The firm is up 10 positions and is ranked 35.

The top 25 has 3 new entrants this month. Analyst focus on SunGard’s cloud infrastructure services have helped it move up 4 positions and into the the top 25. Sterling Commerce has also jumped up 7 positions to the 24th spot as analysts focus on its Connect:Direct service. The third entrant to the top 25 is SPSS which has moved up 4 positions this month.

The most high profile loser in this month’s edition of the Lighthouse Software Index is mySQL which has dropped off 8 positions. The firm appears to be heading further south as analyst focus shifts away from Sun’s acquisition by Oracle. BEA, Amdocs and Informatica are the three firms that have dropped out of the top 25 this month. Lawson Software, which was the top gainer last month, has dropped
