Ericsson is the highest profile gainer this month in the Lighthouse Telecoms Index. The firm has done some great work on gaining analyst focus by ensuring analysts get a chance to see its solutions and strategies. The firm has also managed to gain focus by delivering innovative 3G technology to Telstra to support its mobile broadband services.
Embarq is in agreement with Nokia Siemens Networks to help reduce operational expenses. This allows Nokia Siemens Networks to assume ownership of Embarq’s voice network operation center. Embarq has moved up 9 positions to the 37th spot. Ciena has been selected by American Fiber Systems to deploy advanced, multiservice metro/regional WDM platform. It has also gained 9 positions and is now at the 49th spot.
Verizon which was ranked at the 3rd spot last month has dropped down 3 positions. The fact that it has been recognized by BSI Management Systems as a leading provider of business continuity management services has not helped it maintain its position this month. The biggest decline is seen in the profile of PTC which dropped down 11 positions. There are no new entrants to the top 25 firms in this month’s edition of the Lighthouse Telecoms Index.
