Entrust is the biggest gainer this month in the Lighthouse Software Index and is ranked 35th this month. Its ‘IdentityGuard’ solution is a finalist in 2009 SC Awards and has resulted in the firm racing up 23 positions. Autonomy, a leader in enterprise search and other infrastructure software, has also moved up 4 positions. The firm has been awarded the “Company of the Year Award 2008” at the techMARK Awards organized by the London Stock Exchange. The fact that Frost & Sullivan has also awarded it the “2008 North American Customer Value Enhancement Award” is a sure indicator that Autonomy is doing well at gaining analyst attention to its suite of products and services.
At the top of the league, CA has moved up 1 position removing Symantec from the 5th spot. The gain appears to be due to analyst attention on CA’s planned acquisition of Eurekify and we may see Symantec resume its previous position next month.
NetSuite has shown the greatest decline in the top 50 software firms listed in the Lighthouse Software Index. The firm has announced partnering with HP to deliver cloud computing solutions but this has not earned it much focus with the analysts and the firm has dropped 19 positions. No new firm has made it to the top 25 this month.
