Lighthouse’s Torsten Sewing will be in Hanover, Germany next month meeting delegates at the CeBIT fair. If you want to meet up – perhaps to get a local perspective on what’s happening in central Europe – then give him a call on +49 16 3264 5555. There are even some free tickets available.
Exhibitor bookings for the fair are down this year – which is good news for international firms. The best spaces are allocated to those who have been there continuously the longest. Because of other firms cutting back, many companies will be getting more business out of CeBIT than they expected because of more central locations becoming available. This year there will be ‘only’ 4,300 firms there: that still quite a draw for buyers of technology.
The buzzwords for this year’s fair seem to be savings, security, mobile and green. Lots of wireless devices are launched there, and there’s some interesting server, switch and audio solutions that we’re also hoping to take a look at.
