CA steals the show in the Lighthouse Software Index

Lighthouse Software Index - February 2009CA has managed to move up 2 positions this month and is now ranked 5th in the Lighthouse Software Index. The boost in the firm’s ranking has come from analyst focus on its acquisition of Orchestria and its virtual systems management solutions. VMware, which reported a solid quarter of improved earnings, has also gone up 1 position and is now ranked 4th.

ERP vendor Epicor has also moved up this month with a staggering jump of 18 positions. The firm has been focused by analysts focusing on the Latin American ERP market and it is now ranked 29th. Tibco has also gone up 6 positions. Gartner’s focus on Tibco Spotfire in the “Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence Platforms” has helped the firm to move up to the 15th spot. IFS has gone up 8 positions and is the only new firm to enter the top 25 this month.

SPSS, which has not been mentioned in a single research by Gartner, is one of the biggest losers this month and is down 18 positions. Informatica is also down 10 positions and is the only firm to drop out of the top 25 this month. The firm has reported record revenues for 2008 but this has apparantly not helped it maintain analyst focus this month.
